2010 A Stunning Vintage

A quick update

As we slowly regain some time with our families, it gives me the first opportunity to reflect on an absolutely stunning vintage. We had near perfect conditions the whole way through, warm sunny days and cool nights, with one rainfall event at the close of vintage which helped wash the dust off the bunches – it really was perfect. The flavour, colour and silkiness of the wines is amazing.
The new facility was a pleasure and the wines from the 136 year old vines have blown us away. No break downs of plant and equipment – except for one hiccup when I knocked the crusher off the landing with the forklift…lucky for me no real damage - we received 20 odd tonnes for crushing that afternoon!
All in all a great vintage lasting just over 10 weeks and put a note in your diaries to seek out the 2010 wines as they are released over the next 24 months.
