Planted in 1865 it is a small dry grown gnarly old vineyard producing tiny quantities of intensely flavoured fruit. Hand harvested these gems are then given tender loving care in the winery. An exhilarating expression of the very best Barossa Shiraz can be and truly a world class wine
Tasting note
Opulent, graceful, and complex, the wine showcases dark-fruit richness, cake spice, smoked meat, vanilla, and cedar on the nose, with a hint of cocoa. It’s concentrated and deeply flavoured on the palate with a richly textured mouthfeel and loads of fine-grained tannins, making it multi-layered and splendidly structured with a sustained, sumptuous finish. At its best: now to 2041.
